I like my projects to have an “aged” look.
So, before I mounted Tulip Fraktur onto a wooden hornbook,
I set out to “age” the board.
Here’s what I did.
I took a plain board, cut into the desired shape.
I painted one layer of a cream paint
and sanded lightly all around.
Then, it was time to take all my frustrations out on the board.
I beat around on the board with a heavy chain.
I also added some nail holes.
Finally, I added a thin layer of a walnut colored wax.
Then, it is all ready to glue on the punch needle project.
