A while back (I am embarrassed to say how far back),
I did some experimenting with natural dyes and wool.
I have been spinning up the results of that experiment.
Right now, on my spinning wheel is the wool I dyed with goldenrod plants.
I also recently spun up the small amount that I dyed with an avocado peel.
This skein was dyed after spinning with some Wilton food coloring;
it is a peachy color.
I have a project in mind that requires 5 or 6 different colors of yarn.
It will be a gift and the recipient does occasionally read this blog, so I can’t say what it will be…
Here’s the assortment I have so far of hand-dyed and hand-spun wool for it.
Now that I have them all together, I wonder if the pink is too vivid…
Maybe I’ll try to dye a nice subtle lavender color to replace it.
