I looked at the weather forecast yesterday,
and it’s supposed to SNOW next week!
So, I figured I had better get the rest of my apples picked and processed.
I work better in small increments,
so I picked one bucket full last night
to work up today into applesauce.
This morning, I set to work cutting them in half
and removing all of the bad spots.
I put them into a big pot and simmered them until they were soft.
Then, I set up the Victorio Strainer
I purchased at my grandmother’s estate sale.
I just ladled the cooked apples into the top,
turn the handle,
and the apple skins and seeds come out one side
while the delicious applesauce comes out the other side!
I ended up with a pot full of yummy applesauce to put into the freezer.
It will taste wonderful this winter!
Now, I’m off to pick another bucket-full to do something with tomorrow!
