Lavender

By Amy

I have a love obsession with lavender.

I love the look and smell of the flowers,

I love the dried petals,

and I love using lavender essential oils in my homemade cleaners.

Unfortunately, I can’t seem to get it to grow in my flower garden.

I planted several nice-sized plants a few years ago

and I am now down to one.

I’ve never even had any flowers that

looked good enough to harvest and dry.

It is sad to love something that just doesn’t seem to love you back!

When I was cruising through Hobby Lobby the other day

looking for something new to put in my tobacco basket,

I saw these pretty little lavender flowers.

Lavender flowers

I snagged them right away to update my tobacco basket for the new season!

I added another leafy pick to the lavender –

which to me, looks like lamb’s ear.

I bundled them up together and added them to my basket –

perfect for the spring and summer months!

I can enjoy the look of lavender even if I can’t grow it!

Blessings~

About Me

Our small farm is nestled amongst the Amish. We have a few cows, some sheep, a labradoodle, one calico cat, and lots of wide open spaces for our children to roam. I enjoy making primitive needle punch, wool creations, and learning how to spin the wool from our sheep. Read more...
