In this craft tutorial, I am going to make some Bible based spring decor. These Bible page decoupaged eggs are perfect to use as bowl fillers during the Lenten and Easter seasons! They have a farmhouse style look to them, so they will fit in nicely with lots of different styles of decor.

Make the Easter Eggs:
You are going to need some fake craft eggs, mod podge, book pages, lace, rustic ribbon, buttons, and some thin jute.
I have some paper mache eggs that are about the size of a real egg so that is what I am going to use. You could also use wooden or styrofoam eggs if that’s what you have.
For the book pages, you could use pages from a Bible that is falling apart or an old hymnal. I don’t have one I want to cut up so I am going to print out some pages for this project.
In my Etsy printables shop, I have some printable antique German Bible pages and some New Testament printable pages. Both of these sets come from antique Bibles and have a nice, old look to them.
After printing the pages, use a paper cutter to cut strips of the the paper about 3/8″ wide and about 5-1/2″ long.
Use a brown ink pad to grunge the edges of the strips. You can do this by running the strips over the top of the ink pad with the paper at a right angle to the ink pad.
Use matte finish ModPodge to adhere the strips to the eggs. You can have the strips running lengthwise on the egg or across the other way. I chose to run mine lengthwise. To achieve the same look, attach all of the strips in the same direction (with all of the writing going in the same direction.) If the strip starts to wrinkle at a curve, just tear the strip. Overlap the strips to cover the entire egg.

Once the egg is completely covered with paper book strips, coat the entire egg with ModPodge. Let the eggs dry completely.
Decorate the Easter Eggs:
Now comes the fun part: decorating the eggs! I had some burlap trim that I found at Dollar Tree and some vintage lace that I glued around the middle of the eggs. I finished it off with a vintage button with a piece of jute tied in its holes. You can decorate with whatever you have on hand.
