In this craft tutorial, I will be making some primitive wax bell bowl fillers. The bell bowl fillers are easily made using some large jingle bells, bee’s wax, instant coffee, and cinnamon. These look great in a bowl with your other primitive Christmas decor.

Make the Wax Bell Bowl Fillers:
I am starting with a variety of larger jingle bells that I have on hand. They average about an inch in diameter. The same process would work with larger or smaller bells also. Here’s some wonderful primitive looking bells.
Melt the bee’s wax. We have an old pot that we use exclusively for melting wax to make this type of project. Don’t use one of your good kitchen pots for this!
While the bee’s wax is melting, pour some cinnamon and instant coffee into a disposable container. We keep some aluminum pie tins on hand for this type of thing. The ratios don’t need to be exact, but I’d say we had about 90% cinnamon and 10% instant coffee.

Once the wax is melted, attach a sturdy piece of wire to a bell. You can hold onto the wire while dipping the bell into the wax. After carefully dipping the bell into the wax, immediately place the bell into the pan with the cinnamon mixture. Roll the bell around in the cinnamon to cover the wax with cinnamon.
Caution: the wax is hot – take precautions for yourself and your surroundings!
Place the bell into another container and allow it to dry.

Enjoy your primitive waxed bowl fillers! We placed ours in a pottery bowl along with some greenery.
