Make the Strawberry Jam Bowl Fillers:
The Fabrics:
For the bowl fillers, you will need some red polka dot fabric with small dots, some natural colored fabric for the jar label (I used osnaburg), and some cheesecloth for the top.
Coffee dye the fabrics needed for this project. Let them dry while they are bunched in a ball.

After the fabric is dry, press out the wrinkles on the polka dot and natural colored fabrics. The cheesecloth is hard to press and it isn’t really necessary.
Make the Jam Jar:
Using the free jam jar pattern, cut out two jam jars from the red polka dot fabric.
On the natural colored fabric, you can hand write strawberry jam or use a light box and trace the pattern’s letters. I used an ultra fine sharpie marker.

Cut or tear the jam label to the size indicated on the pattern. Ravel the edges slightly.
Layer the two jam jar pieces right sides together. Sew a quarter inch seam around the jar, leaving the top open. Clip the inside corners, turn right side out.
Lightly stuff the jar and sew the top opening closed.
Cut a piece of the natural colored fabric about 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″. Place it over the top of the jar and then layer a double layer of cheesecloth over that. (I didn’t measure the pieces of cheesecloth but they are a little bit larger than the natural colored fabric piece.
Tie the fabric layers onto the jar using a piece of jute.

Glue the jam label onto the jar. If desired, tuck a sprig of sweet annie behind the jute bow.
