I offer all of my rug hooking patterns as either a digital pattern or a mailed pattern. I know some of you might find the idea of a digital pattern intimidating but they are actually easy to download and use.
In this post, I will show you how to download a digital rug hooking pattern from my Etsy shop, what to expect to see in the pattern, how to print, and how to assemble the pattern.

Downloading Digital Rug Hooking Patterns:
All of my digital rug hooking patterns are available in my Etsy shop in the Hooked Rug E-Patterns section.
After you have chosen your digital patterns and checked out through Etsy, you will receive an email from Etsy with a link to the file.
You can also find the digital pattern in your Etsy account. Go to your profile on Etsy and choose Purchases and reviews. It will show you everything you have purchased through your Etsy account. To the right of the purchase will be a Download Files button. Simply click on that download files button. This will take you to a new screen where you can download the rug hooking pattern.
The digital rug hooking patterns are pdf files so you will need a pdf reader such as Adobe acrobat reader.
You will find the pattern wherever you have set up for downloads on your device. My downloads go into my Downloads folder.
Printing & Assembly of the Digital Rug Hooking Pattern:
The rug hooking pattern has a cover page with a full color photo along with information about the project, such as finished size.
The next pages are instruction pages. On these pages you will find printing & pattern assembly instructions (if needed), wool requirements, supplies list, basic hooking instructions, and finishing instructions if the pattern is a pillow or bowl filler. The patterns do assume you already know how to hook.

After the instructions, you will find the pattern pages. The pattern comes full size, formatted to fit on letter sized printer paper, so there is usually some assembly required.
When you print the pattern pages, choose ‘Actual Size’ or print at 100% and NOT 2 sided!
Cut the pattern pages along the dotted lines and tape them together. Pretty easy! Now you can get started hooking your project right away!
