I have been wanting to try punching with Wool thread,
and what better thing to punch with 100% wool thread than a sheep!
I decided to use a Rustic Wool Moire Thread
since they are sized for punch needle.
They have a bit of texture, which will be perfect for punching the wool on a sheep.
Also, they come in quite a few beautiful colors.
My first try at punching with Rustic Wool Moire Threads:
I chose to use color Rustic Wool Moire Threads – No. 120 for the sheep’s wool.
The rest of the project has been punched using 3 strands of DMC floss.
The thread has a little bit of a rougher texture than what I am used to punching,
but it still fit just fine in my 3 strand CTR needle.
Because of the rough texture, the actual process of punching
didn’t feel quite as smooth as punching with cotton floss.
But I didn’t encounter any problems with it flowing freely through my needle.
Here’s the finished punch needle sheep.
I like the way the sheep turned out.
I am sure I will be punching with wool thread again in the future!
Blessings~
