In this Christmas craft tutorial, I will be making a Victorian inspired paper crafted Christmas ornament. I made this Christmas Santa ornament with leftover scrapbook paper and a Santa image I printed from my computer.

Santa & Pocket:
If you have an old Santa postcard or some scrapbook paper with Santas, you could use that. I didn’t have either so I found a Santa I liked on the Graphics Fairy website.
I find it easy to print images in a specific size if I put the image into my word processor and size it in there before printing. First I printed the Santa at a little over 3″ wide but I ended up reprinting it to be about 2-1/4″ wide, which was the perfect size!
Before cutting out the Santa, I glued it onto a piece of cardstock paper so it would not be floppy. Then I cut it out around his beard and hat.
Leftover from a previous project, I had some holly leaves paper that I cut 2″ x 3″. I also cut a 2×3″ piece of cardstock and grunged both pieces and Santa with my stamp pad.
Using a glue stick, I glued the two pieces together on 3 sides, leaving one of the 3″ sides open. The Santa will slide right into the pocket.
I printed a Merry Christmas sign on some coffee dyed printer paper 2″ x 7/8″, tore it out, and grunged the edges of the paper with my ink pad.
Adding Sparkle:
I picked up some silver sparkle Christmas trees at the Dollar Tree for this project. After removing the wooden base from one of the trees, I cut one side of the tree with scissors to make a flat surface.
To add a little bling, I added some super fine white glitter to the Christmas sign and to Santa’s hat. I also added some fine red glitter to the tree in spots.
For the handle, I cut about a 7″ piece of silver miniature tinsel and hot glued it to the back of the pocket.
Assembling the Victorian Christmas Ornament:
Before sliding Santa into the pocket, I put a little stick glue on the bottom back of the paper. I also attached the sign with stick glue.
The tree was attached using some hot glue and placed right over the tree on the printed Santa. I cut a piece of 1/8″ wide red satin ribbon and tied it to the handle of the ornament.
