In this post, I am going to show you how to make a no sew winter snowman ditty bag. Of course you can use this with your Christmas decor, but it also makes a great piece to display all winter long – through January and February!

Make the Ditty Bag:
You can draw your own pattern for the ditty bag or use this free pattern here. Choose your fabric for the bag. I used a solid cream colored fabric. Fold the fabric in half and use the pattern to cut two pieces for the front and back of the ditty bag.

Pick out black buttons for the snowman’s eyes and mouth. If you don’t have any black buttons, you could use pieces of felt or felted wool for the eyes and mouth.
Cut a piece of orange felt or felted wool in to a long skinny triangle shape with a little curve to it. (You can make it a bit wonky if you want.) I made my nose almost 2 inches long.

Use some tacky glue to attach the facial features to the right side of one of the bag pieces.
If you would like, you can fray the edges of the bag.
Put glue along the curved edge of the wrong side of the other bag piece to glue the two pieces together along the sides and bottom (wrong sides together). Leave the top open. Press the two pieces together. Let dry.

Add a ribbon handle. I used some cream crinkly ribbon and tied knots in both ends and glued it onto the top corners of the snowman bag.

Cut a small strip of black fabric or a black ribbon and tie it onto the ribbon handle.
Add greenery as desired.
