I just released this new primitive crow rug hooking make-do pattern. It has a companion punch needle pattern available. It features a black primitive crow holding a hooked and felted wool hooked sunflower.
Primitive Crow Make-Do Pattern:

The make-do crow has been hooked using black #8 wool strips (one quarter inch wide). The hooked crow stands about seven inches tall. It has been attached to a vintage oil can. You could use a funnel, spool, candlestick, etc for your make-do base.
The crow is holding a primitive looking sunflower. The sunflower has a brown hooked center and felted wool flower petals.
The project has been hooked using monks cloth as the foundation fabric. I find monks cloth to be nice and pliable, making it easy to turn into a pillow or other shaped object.
