Around Thanksgiving, the extended family members
start asking me what my kids, husband and I want for Christmas.
Invariably, I can’t think of anything
and the kids always say they don’t know.
So, I have started keeping a written list
of gift ideas that come up throughout the year
for everyone in my family (including myself).
This year, I have several things on MY wish list
that I thought you also might enjoy putting on YOUR wish list too.
Gift Ideas for Sewers:
Ruler Grip:
To cut fabric, I use my rotary cutter and clear ruler almost daily.
When I saw a handle for the ruler at a quilt shop,
I knew I had to add that to my list!
The ruler grip attaches to the cutting ruler with suction cups
and provides an easy way to move the ruler around
and keep it steady when cutting!
Hot Ruler:
I think this Clover Hot Ruler Press will work perfectly
for getting hems and other seams pressed just right.
I usually use a metal sewing gauge when trying to sew hems,
but the metal on it gets too hot to touch if you iron over it.
I am excited to try the hot ruler press since it is made for ironing.
Knitting Needle Case:
Over the summer, I picked up a HUGE quantity
of knitting needles at a garage sale for $2.
After giving my daughter (who does knit)
the needle sizes that she didn’t already have,
I still had A LOT of needles left.
I crochet, but I haven’t successfully done any knitting.
With these new needles, I WILL learn to knit!
So, I would love to get a knitting needle case for storing the needles.
Perhaps one like this one.
Cricut:
I have been researching and seriously considering
asking for a Cricut Maker.
From what I understand,
the Cricut Maker does an amazing job cutting fabric.
I am thinking it would be very useful
for cutting out fabrics for appliqué designs.
I hope this list of gift ideas for sewers gives you some inspiration
when someone asks you what you want for Christmas!
Blessings~
