I wanted to share with you this Free Hooked Rug Heart Pattern. Of course, it is a perfect addition to your Valentine decorating. It would also be a wonderful table mat any time of the year in your primitive country style home!
Heart Rug Hooking Pattern:
The sample for this primitive hooked rug was hooked on monk’s cloth, but it could also be easily hooked on linen or rug warp.
Dark navy felted wool was used for the outline of the square, key, 1804 date, randomly in the heart, and part of the tongues.
The rest of wool noodles were whites, off whites, yellows and light blues.
A strip of the navy wool was used to finish the edges.
It was also tea dyed to give it an aged, primitive look.
It was hooked with a combination of # 4 – #8 strips.
The finished piece is about 9 1/2 inches square.
