Depending on what you are punching, you might need to change the Ultra Punch Needle Tip.
The Ultra Punch needle comes with three different needle sizes.
You will want to change the needle to match the
size of the fibers you are punching.

To change the needle,
you will first need to disassemble your punch needle tool.
Disassemble the Punch Needle:
To do this, push in the inner tube to move the silver pin
along the channel to move the pin out.
The inner shaft and spring will come right out;
slide the spring off of the needle tip.
Twist the needle tip and slide the needle out of the inner shaft.
Choose a Needle Tip:
Each of the needles has a small letter imprinted
on the blue plastic base indicating which size it is.
The large needle is the only needle you will use with the larger spring.
The small and medium needle tips both use the smaller spring.
Choose which needle you want to use.
Assemble the Punch Needle:
Place the proper spring over the needle tip
making sure the tip of the needle goes through
the very end of the spring
Notice the shape at the end of the inner shaft.
It matches the shape at the end of the needle tip;
just like one of those shape sorting puzzles for preschoolers.
Put those two pieces together
push down and twist the needle into the inner shaft.
Take the inner shaft and slide it into the punch needle tool.
Slide the silver pin up into the shaft in the outer tool.
Slide the silver pin up into the channel and
back down into its original position.
You can now choose your punching depth and start punching!
