All punchers seem to have an opinion about which punch needle is the best,
but what should you do when a pattern uses a different needle than your favorite?
I did a Punch Needle Punching Depth Comparison
by comparing the punching depths of 3 of the most commonly used punch needles
to help you figure that out.
I studied the punching depth of the Ultra Punch,
the 3 Strand CTR needle, and the 3 strand Igolochkoy.
The Igolochkoy does not have any way to adjust its punching depth.
The 3 strand CTR (with all of its depth adjustors on)
and the 3 strand Igolochkoy have virtually identical punching depths.
They both have similar punching depths as the Ultra Punch when it is set to level 1.
If you take off one of the red 3 strand CTR’s depth gauges,
it has a similar punching depth to the Ultra Punch set at level 3.
Taking off two of the CTR’s depth adjustors
creates a punching depth that compares to the Ultra Punch set at level 5.
If you want something really fluffy and take off all of the CTR’s depth adjustors,
that will compare to punching with the Ultra Punch on level 12.
I hope this helps you!
