Sometimes it is difficult to get the tiny details to appear crisp when punching. Some people say to punch eyes first, others say to punch them last. Either way, they don’t always look just like you want them to be.
So, I have come up with a few ways to combat this issue to make crisp looking details in punch needle.
Occasionally I use french knots to make eyes and other small details, but in my newest pattern, “Eggspecially for Ewe”, I decided to add beads from my (ridiculously large) bead stash for some of the fine details.

Adding Beads to Punch Needle:
I punched a chevron style stripe on the Easter egg using a slightly darker color than the rest of the egg.
I liked the look, but thought it needed a little bit more, so I decided to also add a few polka dots.
I did this by hand sewing on some small blue seed beads.
I used a larger black bead for the bunny’s nose and another bead for his eye.
I hope this inspires you to try new ways of adding details to your punching.
Happy punching!
Blessings~
