Check out this Valdani price comparison!
I recently compared the difference between punching with Pearl Cotton #8 and 3 strands of floss.
I found there wasn’t a lot of difference, but I think the 3 strands gives a softer look than the pearl cotton #8.
But what about the cost difference between the two different balls of Valdani floss?
There is a difference in both the size and price of the pearl cotton and the 3 strand floss balls of Valdani floss.
The Calculations:
Today, at Snowflake Memories, the 3 strand balls cost $3.24 with free shipping. It contains 29 yards of floss.
That is 87 feet of floss.
Dividing the price by the number of feet works out to be 3.7 cents per foot.
The #8 pearl cotton balls cost $4.50 + $2.75 in shipping. It contains 67 meters of floss.
67 meters converts to 219.816 feet.
Dividing the price (including shipping) by the number of feet for the pearl cotton works out to be 3.3 cents per foot.
That is a pretty negligible difference in price.
